According to concept artist Iain McCaig, who has worked on the three Star Wars prequels, as well as The Force Awakens, we should be pretty excited for the upcoming Han Solo film:
“[The Han Solo movie] has by far the best STAR WARS script, and one of the best scripts period, that I have ever read. I laughed, I cried, I did all the things you should do when reading a good script. You’re in for a treat.”
The script was written by famed Empire Strikes Back and The Force Awakens screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, so there’s definite possibility we’ll see a pretty decent script. The film will be directed by 22 Jump Street and The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and will star Alden Ehrenreich as the iconic character. Though there have been no reports on Chewbacca’s involvement, one can only assume the character will play a pivotal role in the film. If so, we can assume he’ll be played by Joonas Suotamo, who is slowly taking over the role from the ailing Peter Mayhew.
The Han Solo movie is scheduled for a May 25, 2018 release date.
