Original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum will be returning to the franchise in “major roles” in the upcoming Jurassic World 3. Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow and Laura Dern made the announcement at a Jurassic Park screening at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood last night.
Goldblum reprised his role of Ian Malcolm to star in the original sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, as well as a cameo in last year’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, with Sam Neill returning to star as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park III. Dern cameoed briefly in that film as Dr. Ellie Sattler.
The plot for the film is still under wraps, but what we have seen from the recently posted short film Jurassic Park: Battle at Big Rock, it will focus on how the events of Fallen Kingdom have affected the world. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will also be returning to reprise their roles from the last two Jurassic World films.
Jurassic World 3 is schedule to open June 11, 2021.

For those that don’t know, this was a HUGE surprise tonight at @ArcLightCinemas during @Collider‘s #JurassicWorld event. A fan asked @colintrevorrow if any of the original cast was coming back in JW3 and he was like yes and then introduced @LauraDern to the shocked audience. https://t.co/FLiytKW5P7
